Scroll down for training diary
Our training has been both road bikes and mountain bikes and more recently Paul has resorted to a turbo trainer in front of the tv watching the Champions league!
David and Mike have spent many hours on the Purbecks on mountain bikes whilst Paul has been busy running in preparation for the London Marathon. We have all spent rather embarrassing moments on our backsides having fallen off in the mud on freezing cold mornings when anyone with any common sense was tucked up in bed with the paper and a mug of tea!
We all understand the combination of 2 hours on the bike followed by 4 hours off repeated for 3 days presents a set of problems for each of us that we have not experienced before. We have tried to replicate that as best we can but there is a limit to what can be done as well as fit in family and working life.
Week commencing 30th March
Friday 4th April and Mike and David spend 8 hours in the saddle covering 125 miles through Dorset and Devon. Some bright spark recommended the coastal road from Abbotsbury to Bridport. David is now looking to get a granny gear fitted to his bike before the main event!
Managed to average 15.5 miles per hour.
Week commencing 6th April
Midweek night ride over the purbecks for Mike and David. Didn't see any deer (this time) but must be taking the training seriously now as didn't even stop for a pint at the Bankes Arms!
David spent the end of the week in New York. Set off with good intentions and packed two changes of training kit. Turned out to be a complete waste of suitcase space! Did manage to hire this Mustang Shelby for the day though!!!

Rest week for Paul as his big day is coming up next week.
Week commencing 13th April
Big congratulations to Paul, who successfully completed the London Marathon in under his target time of 4 hours. It'll be interesting to see how many days go by before he gets back on his bike!
And here's another photo from David's trip to New York!

Mainly Gym work this week, but planning on a few quick trips around Poole Harbour at the weekend.
